These Photos show the first pilot model of Ixion's brass Limited Edition model of the 7mm Scale 'H' Class Manning Wardle saddle tank. This model is based on loco number 1021 of the New South Wales Government Railways. Five of the class came to Australia, the other four remaining in the service of the NSW Public Works Department. In Britain, this class of engines worked as contractor's locos, in breweries, collieries and other fascinating industrial settings such as the St Edward's Hospital Tramway - see here.

  • The model will be produced in a limited edition of 100, 50 in unlined black with red buffer beams, and 50 in blue, lined in white, in the livery carried by 1021 when it was the shunter at the Cardiff (NSW) loco workshops, and in which it is preserved at the Rail Transport Museum,Thirlmere NSW.
