Reviews of the On30 Coffee Pots have offered universal acclaim and congratulations.

But don't take our word for it, read them for yourselves:

British Magazine Continental Modeller has reviewed our On30 'Coffee Pots'. The March 2011 issue review concluded:

This branch line ‘train in one vehicle’ is the ideal prototype for the space-starved On30 modeller, and makes a welcome change from the familiar diet of exclusively American stock.

We congratulate Ixion on the achievement of this bold venture, and wish them success.

Roy Link's renowned British Magazine Narrow Gauge & Industrial Railway Modelling Review has reviewed our On30 'Coffee Pots'. The review (February 2011) states:

"Performance of both units was good, even straight out of the box. On pure DC the models ran smoothly, with only a little noise from the flywheel fitted five pole motor. There is no jerk at starting and the models run at a scale walking pace with ease. Unlike the real thing, both loco axles are driven. Top speed is not too high and the models are readily controlled over the whole speed range.

The detailing is crisp and fine, with plenty of separately added mouldings and wire handrails etc., matched by very good slow speed performance. Effectively, you get a complete [steam] passenger train in one piece – ideal for the space-starved modeller."

Narrow Gauge Downunder magazine has also reviewed the Coffee Pots, saying:

"Once in a very long time comes a model that 'changes the game'; perhaps this initial offering from Ixion Models might be a product we'll look back upon [in this way]...

Overall this is a wonderful model and an ambitious project well delivered. The result...we're certain will appeal to On30 modellers following both Australian and overseas themes."

N GAUGE MANOR REVIEWS

With the release of the Manor, reviews and superb photos have now appeared in all of the UK's model railway magazines.

These have been overwhelmingly positive, noting especially its accuracy, detail and running qualities.

But don't take our word for it, read them for yourself below! (Adobe PDF Reader required to view these files).

British Railway Modelling July issue (p.42-43) said:

" Full marks to Ixion here... one can appreciate what a superb model the ‘Manor’ is, capturing the look of the prototype perfectly. One is immediately struck by the superb rivet detail on the running plate and around the saddle along with the lamp irons. The smokebox and boiler are equally well executed with all the boiler washout plugs faithfully replicated.

Equally well done is the firebox with the cladding and rivet detail fully visible. The cab features flush-glazing and backhead detail, of note are the separately fitted ‘L’-shaped handrails around the cabside windows and separately fitted etched cabside numerals."

Hornby Magazine in its June issue (p.81) concluded:

"Ixion Models... has got it right in terms of the model's proportions, detail and performance. With all the details fitted Ixion Models' 'Manor' is transformed into a different league and offers more than the established manufacturers making this a highly attractive model. Ixion is to be commended for for turning out a high quality model of a popular and useful mixed traffic locomotive design and also for championing the GWR in its 175th anniversary."

Railway Modeller (June 2010, p.483) wrote:

" The model squares up excellently to published dimensions, and has a wealth of fine detail.

Tungsten weights in the engine give the 'Manor' ample adhesion for tractive effort; the model tips the scales at nearly 100g.

The tender itself is finely detailed, down the model of the water scoop...

Performance is smooth and powerful straight from the box, and and the model will traverse first radius curves."

Model Rail May issue (p.16-17) said:

" The model comes in a Dapol-style clear plastic box, and even at first glance it looks 'right'...The model looks every inch a 'Manor'.

Ixion should be commended for fitting etched name and cabside numberplates as standard, for they really do lift the overall appearance.

Performance is excellent. Pluses: Accuracy, appearance, engineering, performance. At last, an 'N' gauge GWR 4-6-0 worthy of the name."
